Texans Can Academies Celebrates Red Ribbon Week 2024 with a Focus on Drug Awareness and Prevention
Dallas, TX – Texans Can Academies (TCA) is proud to join schools and communities nationwide in celebrating Red Ribbon Week 2024, taking place from October 23 to October 31. This year’s theme, “Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug-Free™,” emphasizes the importance of fostering healthy lifestyles and making positive choices to stay drug-free. Through a series of engaging activities, educational resources, and school spirit events, TCA is committed to empowering students with the knowledge and support they need to live healthy, drug-free lives.
TCA Red Ribbon Week Schedule of Events:
October 23, 2024 – Kick-Off Day: TCA will launch Red Ribbon Week by sharing drug awareness and educational resources through Thrillshare, focusing on AWARENESS & EDUCATION.
October 24, 2024 – Pink Out Day: Students and staff are encouraged to wear pink to show their support for a drug-free lifestyle.
October 28, 2024 – Crazy Socks Day: Students can show their creative side by wearing crazy socks! The day will feature a school-wide message about the National Red Ribbon Campaign™ and the story of Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, shared during announcements.
October 29, 2024 – Stomp Out Drugs Day: Students will wear their favorite kicks to symbolize stomping out drugs. They will also watch a powerful Fentanyl Awareness PSA during advisory.
October 30, 2024 – Denim & White Day: To symbolize staying drug-free, students are invited to wear denim and white. The day will include a school-wide morning message and the creation of a “Wall of Pledges,” where students can sign their names to pledge a drug-free life. Additionally, a Vaping Awareness video will be shown during lunch.
October 31, 2024 – School Spirit Day: TCA students and staff will show their school pride by wearing school spirit colors or T-shirts. An advisory lesson focused on drug prevention will conclude the week:
Red Ribbon Week has been recognized as the largest drug prevention campaign in the nation, serving as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities. Texans Can Academies proudly participates in this national event to emphasize the importance of drug prevention education and to foster a safe, supportive learning environment for all students.
