Our students shined in last evening's poetry slam!
We were thrilled to be joined by local community members Terrell Johnican of Highest Caliber Publishing, Jasmine Imo of She Is More Than Enough, Casilya Smith of Sil the Writer, and Kevin Aregbe of KevoArts; who served as judges in this friendly competition fueled by audience response!
This event was hosted by members of the Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE), a program that puts student and family engagement at the center of what they do.
Congratulations go to Cedric Maddox (honorable mention), Carlee Berglund (third place), Broderick McKinney (2nd place), and Jayda Smith (first place)!
